See Genesis Chapter 1-2
God created us in His image and put us in charge over everything on the earth. Everything He created was good (including you)! He placed our ancestors (Adam & Eve) in the Garden of Eden in a place filled with life, abundance, and His loving presence. The Kingdom of God was on Earth and there was peace!
See Genesis Chapter 3
The bad news is that even though they were warned (Genesis 2:16-17) that they would surely die when they broke God's command, Adam & Eve were deceived into using their God-given power of choice (free will) to chose to believe and follow Satan instead of God. Under Satan's influence, mankind was sentenced to death and no longer living under God's perfect government. Mankind began living under a different government and Earth become corrupted by evil, death, and destruction as a result.

(Although God wants the best for all of mankind, He keeps His word and allows us each to make our own choices and experience the consequences that accompany those choices. His heart continues to cry out to each of us in various ways to choose Him and the good life that He has planned for us, but some are so deceived or hardened that they will still choose otherwise and experience the consequences that are only meant for those who have committed and are committing treason by attempting to overthrow the Kingdom of God).

The Good news is that God sent His only Son to Earth in the body of a man to die in order for us to live... And for us to be restored to rulership (under the Lord) so our lives can be the gifts that He gives. In spite of the death sentence that mankind had brought upon itself, God loved mankind so much that He sent His only innocent Son to be tortured and put to death in the place of each and every one of us. He then raised His Son from the dead and gave Him all power and authority in heaven and on Earth (Matthew 28:18-20). His mission is to forgive and bring mankind and Earth back under His perfect Government permanently. Those who believe are commissioned to carry out His work until He returns. Revelation 21 gives us a breathtaking snapshot of how life will be when God's Kingdom is fully restored on Earth and in the hearts of mankind. The same power of choice (free will) that brought evil, death, and destruction to Earth when our ancestors were deceived into choosing Satan's wicked plan for us instead of Gods perfect plan, is the same power of choice that is bringing love, everlasting life, and restoration to both mankind and Earth as we each choose to trust and believe God, receive forgiveness from His Son Jesus Christ, and be filled with His Holy Spirit.
This indeed is good news!!! ...Choose wisely!
